I love the feeling of walking around in clean shoes and looking good. When people notice and say, "Hey, nice shoes", and you know they are talking about you. Crispy, new kicks...nothing better.

Awesome #4 - Rain while you're in the tent - Nick R

You know when you're inside a tent and it starts to rain.  You hope it doesn't leak, and when you realize it isn't, you can just lay back and enjoy the pitter patter all night long as it puts you to sleep.  OR when you're camping and you're asleep and you wake up to the rain and listen to it's song on the ceiling above you. 

Nature is rad and awesome.

#3 Getting your first kiss - Austin

When you love the person you are with there is nothing like puckering up and getting that first kiss.  The sweaty hands, the nervous stomach and the hope that the garlic bread you ate with dinner doesn't repulse them.  It's all about anticipation and the moment when you feel connected to someone else...even if it's just for a short time.

#2 Free Stuff! by Brady (the self proclaimed genie of Awesome)

It's awesome to have the feeling that you didn't have to pay.  Whether it's before or afterwards, when it's free it's going to be fantastic.  Like if you're walking down the road and you see an old shoe, i'ts wonderful to just pick it up and then say "Hey, free shoe!".  Or when you see someone left their fries on the table at the restaurant.  Even though it's beside a half eaten burger, it's still free. 

What to do? Whose to chose?

This is the first blog in the Tompkins' class of awesome.  How do I pick whose awesome idea first?  Well, to be fair, I'll choose the first one, and then I'll pick the rest at random.  These were awesome dudes, and I really enjoyed writing these and talking about them. 

#1 Actually enjoying school

-It's easy to think of the times that you were bored or wanting to be somewhere else, but if you even have a single moment in a day where you enjoy something or someone, it was definitely worth going.  Remember that school = freedom for some of you.  Carpe Diem dudes.  Carpe Diem.
